Norwegian Cruise Line Unveils Exciting Upgrades for Bliss and Breakaway Ships
Introduction to Ship Enhancements
Norwegian Cruise Line is set to introduce significant updates to two of its popular ships, the Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway. These enhancements, scheduled for the upcoming winter drydock period, aim to elevate the cruising experience with new recreational spaces, dining options, and luxury accommodations.
Horizon Park and Dining Innovations on Norwegian Bliss
The Norwegian Bliss will undergo a transformation from January 17 to February 2, introducing Horizon Park, a new outdoor venue on the top deck. This space will offer a variety of activities, including cornhole and a giant Jenga stacking tower, along with reclining loungers for sunbathing. The ship’s dining scene will also see changes, with an expanded Cagney’s Steakhouse replacing the Mexican cantina Los Lobos, and an enlarged Teppanyaki taking over the Coco’s dessert shop. Additionally, Palomar, a seafood specialty restaurant that debuted on the Norwegian Prima, will replace Ocean Blue.
Luxury accommodations in The Haven, Norwegian’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship experience, will also be upgraded. The Premiere Owner’s Suites will feature three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, and a separate dining room with views of The Haven Horizon Lounge. The living areas, master bedrooms, and outdoor balcony furnishings will be fully refurbished.
Norwegian Breakaway’s Silver Screen Bistro and More
From February 19 to March 14, the Norwegian Breakaway will receive its own set of enhancements. A highlight is the introduction of the Silver Screen Bistro, a movie and dining venue replacing the Spiegel Tent. This venue will feature oversized recliners and retractable tables, offering a menu of shareable, handheld dishes inspired by Food Republic’s Asian and Latin flavors. While there is no entry fee, guests will pay a la carte prices for food or use their dining credit.
The Breakaway will also feature Horizon Park, similar to the Bliss, with a stage for live music and entertainment. The popular Stadium, offering complimentary outdoor activities and family-friendly games, will be added to the ship. Dining upgrades include an expanded Cagney’s Steakhouse replacing Moderno Churrascaria, and Palomar taking over Ocean Blue. The Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only outdoor venue, will be expanded with additional seating and cabanas, and The Haven’s sundeck will see similar enhancements.
Conclusion and Itinerary Plans
Once the Norwegian Bliss completes its drydock, it will embark on a 13-day journey from Southampton, U.K., to Miami, followed by itineraries in the Western Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, and Alaska. The Norwegian Breakaway, after its updates, will sail various routes from Barcelona and Venice (Trieste).
These updates reflect Norwegian Cruise Line’s commitment to providing innovative and luxurious experiences for its guests, ensuring memorable voyages on the Bliss and Breakaway.
